The author's personal goal is to achieve financial independence, covering at least 80% of her living expenses, by the age of 40. This will allow her to reduce work for money and focus on volunteer or passion-driven work.
"For me personally, my goal is to achieve financial independence at the age of 40 for I would say at least 80% of my living expenses. Meaning that although I still probably will do some paid work, which means I would be able to orient the majority of my working hours toward either explicitly volunteer unpaid work or work that is more passion/hobbydriven um and therefore less concerned with whatever I make on it. Essentially, I want to be able to limit the amount that I am required to work for money to as little as possible by the age of 40."
