US inflation rate is predicted to rise from 2.4% to between 2.7% and 2.8% following the July 15th CPI report, primarily due to the 12-month calculation methodology removing a zero-inflation June from the previous year.
"When we take away June, and there was no inflation last year in June, and we add anything, our inflation is likely to rise. Based off of my understanding, the overall inflation expectation is uh expected to rise.3%. So if that is the case, if we're taking away nothing and adding.3% to our current uh 2.4%, there's a exact formula behind it, but it's expected to be anywhere from around 2.7 to 2.8% inflation supporting the case that no inflation is not going down."
