If the Japanese inflation rate goes up, the only way the the Japanese can slow that down is by increasing the interest rates. If they increase their interest rates, the Japanese yen cash and carry trade begins to unwind and that will knock the US stock markets because a lot of the Japanese money is invested in US stock markets."
