Portable mortgages will not be implemented in the United States unless the government intervenes to backstop the loans with taxpayer funds.
"Realistically, I just can't see this happening unless the government is there to backs stop these loans with taxpayer funds, at which point, yeah, anything is possible with enough money. So, ultimately, no, I don't think this one is going to happen."
