RBI will enable individuals to take loans using silver (up to 10kg of ornaments/jewelry or 500g of coins) as collateral, similar to gold loans, starting April 26, 2026. Loans can cover up to 85% of the silver's value, and those under Rs 2.5 lakh will not require a credit history.
