From the financial year 2025-2026 onwards, professionals (e.g., freelancers, Uber drivers, influencers, doctors, lawyers, designers) whose sole income is professional income will pay zero tax on professional income up to Rs 24 lakh per year.
"If someone is a professional like a freelancer, Uber, influencer, doctor, lawyer or designer and that is his only source of income, then he will not have to pay any tax on professional income up to Rs 24 lakh from this financial year."
